I was at Home cheapo getting some things and wandered over to the appliances section to look at refrigerators. I am going to upgrade the kitchen soon and am getting a feel for whats out there and costs. I noticed on several of the major brands..i.e Samsung, LG, GE etc that one of the doors on the french door models would be slightly higher than the other resulting in a noticeable defect. I asked the associate what was the reason for that and he explained that the units will get leveled when they are installed and the doors will align. I found this explanation iffy at best. I mean can a large stainless steel appliance be so flimsy that the doors miss align just from being out of level a little? Where talking an appliance that costs upwards of 2 grand from a major manufacturer. What do you think...BS or legit?
Yes.. those French door needs to be adjusted. Even on a $3000+ refrigerator. Think about it. Do you expect an appliance with multiples door hinges to have exact fit?

Unfortunately, the people who set up, put together the fridge at your local HD or Lowes store knows jack about putting it together. You go to a real appliance store, you get a different presentation.

I was watching a home improvement show in which the owners had bought a very high end refrigerator. Before it was installed, they noticed the door was uneven, so they had a service call pending. However, when they slid the fridge into place and leveled it, the door was fine.
I think the salesperson was probably giving you the straight scoop.
