Tree comes down 12 days after Christmas at old Christmas. Door decoration is a Winter wreath and will stay up until Valentine's Day since it is red flowers.
Took my tree down today its not outside with popcorn garlands for the birds. Slowly putting other Christmas decorations away leaving some 'winter' themed ones out for a while.
This weekend. We often keep decor up until Epiphany, but with our schedules, it works better this year to do it now. The weather is supposed to be reasonable today so the outside stuff will come down for sure.
Never heard of Old Christmas or Little Christmas. Is that the same as Epiphany?
I like leaving them up for a while. The tree will come down today because it is dying. The stockings are down. Everything else will stay another week or so, probably. The outside lights will depend on the weather.
The grandkids wanted to take off the tree ornaments on Friday, so I thought why not. Trying to keep up with a 3 and 6 year old was challenging, but nothing was broken. We finished taking down the tree yesterday and I repacked everything and no new containers were needed, yay! I had the hot glue gun and super glue out and repaired anything before it was put away. Outside decorations were taken down and the gutters cleaned once again with heavy rain in the forecast.
It was another good holiday season; I'm always so happy to put decorations out and just as happy to put them away!
I didn't have to much so it didn't take too long to take down/put things into my tiny minuscule Box O'Christmas. The only thing still up right now is the tree, with everything else removed from it, because we have to wait for whenever garbage is next going out.
Whew, my husband and I went on a tear yesterday and took down everything, and organized it all neatly, and now the house is back in order. I have a "winter decor" that I stick with through about March - different artwork and lamps and pillows and mantel stuff in the living room - quieter, more minimalist stuff (I have a lot of orange and cobalt blue in my "other set" of stuff). So I enjoy taking the busy Christmas stuff down and enjoying the peacefulness of the quiet decor, a fire in the fireplace, candles lit, etc. during the long evenings of January and February.
