Do you like this Quincy Grey? Quincy Granite

They show it with the Marrett Apple

Check out your local nursery and see if they have portulaca(also called moss rose).

I don't think it would last 6 months in the summer with no irrigation, but it is very drought tolerant.

Most people sell it as an annual. If you enjoy it, you could always replace it relatively easy for the time you are there.

You see it all over at the resorts in Mexico, so I assume it would do well in Arizona too. It looks good either as ground cover or in boxes, planters.

I think you're right - the trim is too light. The Venetian Glass color on the swatch you linked to looks like an improvement and will go with your pinks and greens theme inside. Yes to some metal yard art! Some of those styles would go great for a cottage look.

I would leave the house and trim color the same for now, use it as a blank canvas and work around it with some fun whimsical décor that you can change out or add to as needed/wanted. This would be cheaper and more flexible until you decide what works for you. Like hang a colorful sun face similar to this one on the railing and then paint your front door one of the colors in the sun face or a lighter shade of one of the colors.

Or a sun face with more subtle colors like this one.

Then also add some colorful metal flowers in the rock areas in front of your house which could really use some color as well.

Or some fun whimsical creatures like this

Or a colorful birdbath or statue.

I would start small/smaller and not so permanent as painting right away. Just have fun with it! I know I would

Any suggestions as to what you would use for the trim? Maybe venetian glass on the swatch on the link above? Or the cottage green (I really like that!).

Any specific colors that you would recommend to paint the front door to go with all this?

Plants in the AZ sun don't do so well in the summer (plus I've been gone during the summer). It's best for me to decorate with other things...I have roses and irises. which work well in the desert. What color would you add considering I have a cottage décor?

Thanks!
I'd go with the Cottage Green.
