it also depends on your taste. one can buy a vanity for 500 dollars, or a vanity for 138 dollars.....its really hard to give a price over the net...

We put in new drywall, new toilet, new sink/vanity, sheet vinyl, all DIY except fixing a pipe and installing the new fan in the ceiling (needed new wiring), cost $1500....started as just a taking off the wallpaper and painting project so way more than we planned . Bathroom is 12x5 so not small but not huge either.

I have been asking the same question. As much as I would love to replaced the tub-we are going to keep it (and save $$$$). What we are going to replace are all the fixtures (tub & sink) and put in a new floor. We also need new lighting. We may put in a tin ceiling if we have enough tiles left from doing our kitchen. If not, it won't have the tin ceiling. Like I said, we are going to keep the tub. The sink has to stay. It is not original to the house because the house was build before indoor plumbing but it was the original one that was put in when the bathroom was installed. And we just put in the new toilet before we moved into the house. The majority of expense is going to go to our contractor for doing the job the RIGHT way the first time.

Hopefully, we can get it done for about $5000-hopefully less.

There is a free remodelling calculator you can use: https://app.mykukun.com/Bathroom-Renovation-Cost I've tried it and it seemed quite accurate. After that you know your budget and it is always good to get quotes from different professionals. By estimating with a calculator you kind of know what you can except.
