I would cover it for a few reasons:

privacy (do the trees lose their leaves?)

light control

aesthetics

I think floor-length curtains would look good. You could hang them next to the window instead of in front of it, so you still maximize the view when they are open.

So I installed zebra blinds for my window. I am happy with the purchase. $240.

^ that was exactly what I meant buy the "roller shade" idea.

This obviously is more decorative, but never the less, it does what I think you wanted it to do.
Keep the window bare when you want, and give you privacy / light control when you want.

so to me, it is a win win situation.

if the window is open at night, and no light is on in the room, you can still roll it all the way up to avoid the clanking of the shade, or just to see the stars............

We just put blinds up on all of our windows about a month ago. We've been in our house for 1 1/2 years. I never cared about privacy because we're in in the county with no neighbors but I was shocked at what a difference the blinds made. It just makes it look "finished". I didn't realize how naked the windows were.

I also love to see the trees and bought this house because of this.

So you think it is OK to leave the window bare? Does it look weird leaving a bedroom window uncovered?

thanks,

I completely agree with you jimmybirdie, But a large glass window with no curtains increases chances of robbery and it reduces privacy which leds you to a akward lifestyle.

thanks,

I used to live in an apartment that I didn't have anything on my bedroom window which was on the second floor. My apartment was in the back (facing west) and overlooked a creek. There were stairs leading up to my apartment and one other. If someone came up at night and I was in my bedroom, they would see my ceiling unless I was standing right in front of the window. It was pretty private.

That looks great, and if I'm not mistaken, you painted as well? Very modern and fresh looking!

Looks good...though I will admit, I prefer the window uncovered.

I’m not fond of the fussiness of a lot of drapes.
