Every generation wants a change from the parental generation's decor, and even the grand-parental generation's decor. But the stuff that comes back in vogue after 60 or so years, now that to me becomes "timeless".
To that end I nominate mission style arts and crafts furniture as timeless. I even think Danish modern is somewhat a timeless style. Both of these are visually simple and relaxing forms.
Club chairs and streamlined wing chairs can be timeless, as can jute and sisal rugs with no color added to them.
l was picturing something like a checkerboard of Campbell's soup cans or the Marilyn Monroe portraits....not dots. So thanks for the photo.
I've seen a number of Warhol-inspired bathrooms. I'm always tempted to ask if it's homage or criticism to put Andy in the john.
Hmmmm... wonder why that is considered Warhol inspired.
I, too, was expecting large graphics, not little dots.
OR pen and ink...
I go to the Warhol Museum often. I think he would be amused to be in the john.
He created several pieces of art, that, on the label listing the medium it says "Urine on copper".
I've thought of another timeless style. Wingback chairs. This is something that is copied and redesigned continually. I do like some of the modern versions.
This is an example of Andy Warhol wallpaper - somewhat similar in color and scope but we thought it had too much red in it, so we went with the dots. No, neither of them are soup cans! LOL
