We had a house built in 1997 and I fulfilled a lifelong decorating dream by putting wallpaper in the kitchen, formal dining, baths, and went crazy in the master bedroom with custom bedspread and drapes, matching border and a coordinating paper in the master bath.

We sold it in 2006 and the new owners took it all down. That house was recently for sale again. I barely recognized it in the pictures.

For the record, I really don't like wallpaper any more

We had 2 homes with wallpaper and took it all off. I did try the fabric softener but there was so much
glue that I decided to use DIF (this was several years ago). It worked so much better than the FS.
The walls were plaster but in some sections they put wallpaper over raw plaster and drywall... and then there were parts where they had 2 layers of wallpaper.

How to Remove Wallpaper with the DIF Method: 7 Steps

Has anyone noticed that wallpaper making a comeback?

Oh my, borders!

The work you put in getting rid of it has certainly paid off. Your kitchen looks like a whole different space. Job well done.

I just bought my parents' house and my mum put that rubbish d-mn near every room. It is literally giving me a headache just thinking about all the work I am going to have to do not only taking it down, but painting every bloody room, afterword.

Here is our ugly wallpaper. I know the people who put it up. Even though they put it up, they didn't chose it-his mother did.

Since it was coming down anyway, we just took it down and painted the room like we painted the rest of the house-walls are Ice Cube & trim French Roast. The after pic was before the new floor went in. I can't believe I didn't take a pic of the room when it was all done. But, it is in my videos.

Oh my! Yes, what a difference it makes!

Our house was built in 1997 and the original owners had filled it with wallpaper in jewel tones. Here is the before and after shot of the master bath, just for an idea of the difference throughout the house:
