Bad taste is my grandparent's home with flocked wallpaper, cheap carpet, statues of the Catholic saints all over and too much furniture (mismatching) on every wall.
But everybody has their own opinion on what "bad taste" is. While 99.9% of people surveyed may look at a picture of my grandparents house and go "yuck", there is that small percentage that will think it's fine. Some people just aren't into interior decorating and are only concerned with how their house works for them. I wish sometimes I had that attitude. I always want my place to look like a model home which can be tiresome to keep up.
I think the Catholic saints crosses the line into "kitsch" which many agree is a sign of bad taste. I also want my spaces to look a certain way at all times (and its a pain to keep up, yes. No more white Mongolian lamb throws with toddler visitors.) There have to be a few universals of bad taste. How about plastic covers on furniture?
Sometimes it's not so much the dish, but how it's served that is a turn off. I mean, you understand this, right?
