Question Colors To Go With Couch?

We will be moving soon which means I get to redecorate. YAY!!

Anyway, we have this living room set: (pic is from website of where we purchased it)
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q120/liredhead/couch.jpg (broken link)

And wondering what the best colors would be to compliment it without making the room look dark.

How about a pale sage green for walls and some cinnamony colored throw pillows?

Its a beautiful neutral and could go with so many colors, greens, golds, oranges, blues, etc. I guess it depends if you want warm earth tones or cooler tones.

I agree a nice sage green or a rusty orangy looking color. Not the color ORANGE itself, but in the family. I think the color I'm thinking of is coral? You get the point. LOL. You really could pick just about anything "soft" with the color of your couch..

I think something neutral like Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige and dark red and dark gold pillows, a few green plants - nice end tables and table lamps, a carpet under your coffee table - make sure the carpet has a black background with brown, creams, dark red, medium green and gold.

Can you post a pic of the room? Many times the natural light of the room and the direction the room faces has an effect on the color (and mood) of the room.

A deep cream would pick up the yellow idea without being overwhelming. If you like green the light green color idea would be my favorite.

I was thinking light green, too, but remembered that you wanted "dark." Perhaps a deep teal color?
