Question Redecorating kitchen need help with everything.

Hi I am redecorating my kitchen, I am painting the oak cupboards a nice rich cream color and adding some glass doors. I have medium dark hardwood floors. What color hardware would be nice on the cupboards. What color counter top and back splash should I use. And also want to change the paint color in kitchen. Any of your suggestions would be great. Thanks
I have black/stainless appliances. P.S. Granite countertops are not in the price range.
I am open to color. I was thinking a nice rich mocha color for walls and a dark choclate/black granite looking counter.???

Maybe post a picture of your kitchen?

What color and species are your floors? Are they oak? maple? brazilian hardwood? what sort of stain? reddish? brownish?

Are you thinking of tile, granite tile or something along those lines? High end custom laminate? Prefab laminate?

I am in the middle of a kitchen project and having my handyman install new prefabricated laminate counters from Lowes. There are not a lot of options, so I choose a dark one to go with my latte colored walls (I used Sherwin Williams Latte and I selected the lightest color from that same paint chip for the trim color so that it would complement nicely). My guy should have the counters finished tomorrow and the appliances will be delivered next week; I'll try to post pictures next week once it's all complete.

Floors i believe are oak, brownish.
Do you think when I paint the cupboards a cream color as I said, that you have to change your trim color. My trim is all white now, and I have this through out the house. I am getting crown installed above the cupboards also, and with two windows and a back door in the kitchen was wondering about the trim color.

Are you really sure about the paint?
White, off-white, cream, are coming back in style, but there is still a lot of demand for stain finishes. How about a white-wash base to maintain some grain, with a chocolate glaze to high-lite the details? Paint the crown in the same color as the glaze.
There is plenty of laminate that mimics granite/stone and with different edge techniques. Backsplash can be just about anything or nothing. If you go with a granite looking laminate for the tops, you could buy that same selection in sheets and use it as b/spl. Or you could do a tile. I have also seen (and plan to use in my own re-do) the use of cultured stacked stone for b/spl. As far as hardware; wrought iron, or oil rubbed bronze.

I would also recommend wrought iron cabinet hardware. I think it would look really nice with your mocha walls and cream cabinets. Here's a link to some really nice looking, Wilsonart, stone/granite looking, laminate countertop samples. I have Mesa Twighlight in my kitchen. Maybe looking at these might give you some ideas.
