Hi. We're preparing to paint the exterior of a multi-building set of apartments. Circa 1900, mostly brick in front, wood & smooth stucco elsewhere. Tight urban lot. Fronts of buildings are right along the sidewalk. Garage in back, beside a small central courtyard/lawn.

I'd like the place to look more contemporary, cleaner, cheerier. Not gaudy of course. I think the main color of the first floor needs to stay in the "red or brick" family (it's obviously brick construction and I do like having a large red "base" to the look.

I don't mind a change in main paint color between the various buildings (to help visitors identify the correct entrances, which are kinda tough to locate). But not necessary. I think a few different colors will definitely help highlight/obscure, etc and be a better result. I'm thinking max 3 or 4 colors, maybe a small area of a 5th color if it creates a great look.

White or cream trim, and many windows are already capped in white aluminum.

Does anyone have a good design eye who'd like to suggest good color choices? Thank you!!

Here's current photos of the exteriors:

And here's some fast mock-ups I did. None are perfect, lol. I'm getting lost as to what good colors would be, and where to switch colors.

(If you have a suggestion for a good color visualizer app for Android, I'd love to know it. I used Project Color by Home Depot, but it's a little imprecise and has a few bugs. But I'm much more interested in finding a great color scheme.)

And we'll be re-landscaping and possibly moving some of the walkways at some point soon.

Thanks!

If they don't show as Links, can you copy the URL & see if it opens in your browser that way?

Is there a better place I could store the photo albums online, so you guys can view/comment? (My links are to Google Photos albums. Are you iPhone? Maybe you need to view with a PC or Android?)

You just have to have a few more posts before you can post clickable links. I think 10 posts. It's a security feature CD uses to help fight spammers.

Until then, people can just copy and paste your links into their search bar to view them.

As for color suggestions, I would not paint them separate colors. I would paint the entire unit a stone gray or warm beige with black trim and accents. It's a classy look that unifies when you have a jumble of architectural elements.

I pasted them after copying and got zilch. But I like your ideas. The only other thing I would add is that you might paint each front door in a distinctive color. You could use pleasing colors with gray undertones to be harmonious with each other and the gray walls.
