I prefer sheets w/ higher than 400 TC, but the "twist" of the thread can also make a big difference on how smooth the sheet feels.
Whatever you do, only buy 100% cotton sheets! And buy the type that has elastic all the way around - much easier to handle on a King-sized bed.

I did a search - YAY! before starting another thread: Can anyone tell me what blend of sheets to get if you "sleep hot"? I read about thread counts, softness, etc. - I want some crisp COOL sheets, I find damask for instance, holds body temp. - help? (I don't care if they are cheap, they do need to fit a deep mattress though)

Honestly, some of the best sheets I have came from the Martha Stewart line at K-Mart. I have expensive sheets from Macy's and other high end stores, Land's End, etc. and my K-Mart sheets are as nice if not nicer then them AND I got them on sale for $15 for a king SET.

I tried for this and got 100% cotton but the trade-off is wrinkle-ability.
I bought some 400% thread count off eBay but think they must
have meant per yard instead of per inch
I still like my "old" percale

I think percale is what I always liked - hard to find. All I see are these sheets w/high thread counts. I want cool, crisp sheets - were the cotton ones good at this? I don't care about wrinkles (unless they are uncomfortable).

I sleep hot. I don't know why but i always now have my wife leave out any fabric softener but wsh with Oxyclean in the wash. That gives tha sheets that smooth cool feeling;if you know what I mean.

We just use a fabric softener sheet (to help w/static) - do you really think that would help though? I have OxyClean (great for soaking whites and stains) - wonder if I should try that?

I don't know if these work, but I did a Google search for cool sheets, and came up with these. Again, I know nothing about the sheets or the website - it's just what I found. There's probably more out there as well.

Not so! Not so!
Buying a thread count higher than 400 is foolish. The diameter of each thread is so small that they wear out very quickly. Think about how small and thin and delicate a thread of cotton must be in order to get 1000 of them in an inch! 400 TPI feels essentially the same and will last much, much longer.

I really want to try some of the sheets from the Northern Nights line from QVC. I LOVE thier feather pillows. The other night they had 2 sets for about 110.
