Fun article, interesting the way some people choose to decorate. Neutral walls and furnishings still do it for me, though. The future owner of the Vermont cottage, might rent the old jail to ghost hunters to spend the night.

When we were looking for a new home the search brought up some very unusual properties:

A "built in pool" but was no bigger than a hot tub

One house had a 4 ft x 1 ft rectangular tiled fountain in the middle of the great room about 3 ft from the wood stove. The fountain part was galvanized tubing the length of the fountain and the water dripped downward every 2 inches...this same house had 2 lofts and in between there were two 2x4's with a railing to cross to the other side.

A large commercial telescope in the backyard complete with a 6 ft. diameter dome.

A kitchen with a wall painted bright pink with river rock cemented randomly all over it.

I should've kept the photos. They were fun to look at since they were so odd.
