On the wall, do the script writing. I would repeat it twice.

I would also go to Kmart and get little decorative jars that hold tealight candles and put them every foot ontop of the cabinets. It is a pain to climb up and down but if you have friends over it sets a nice and pretty mood! I would keep it simple.

I've collected a lot if copper items and that looks really nice on top of cabinets. Above your sink - you might add a clock or some other wall art. Baskets are also a possibility.

I didn't read all of the posts... so if this has been suggested... excuse me..

A friend of mine found many wine bottles of the same color and similar size... the has them equally spaced aboveher cabinets... they are very tall... it looks really sophisticated... it took her a bit to find the right spacing and height... but once achieved it was great.

I concur. I would stay away from "faux" anything. The kitchen looks nice as-is to me.

A friendly warning about wine racks on top of kitchen cabinets....

I tried that once and it did look nice, but one of the bottles must not have been completely secure in the rack, and DOWN it came. Red wine and broken glass all over my kitchen.

We've done some decorating with empty wine bottles - especially if the bottles are unique in some way. Hubby collects port, and it's way for him to keep his collection, even after it's been enjoyed

Very nice kitchen.

My sister has several collections displayed above her cabinets. She said its quite a chore to keep that area dusted. But I think it really adds a charm to her (or any kitchen) when the items look like they belong there and aren't just clutter.

If you can't make up your mind, consider that area as a hiding spot for things you don't want your family to find.
