Has anyone on this forum ever bought furniture from Ashley Furniture?
Is it decent quality? The prices seem too good to be true.
I also tried searching for customer reviews online, and saw some negative comments, but I am not sure if that is a local problem, or a problem with the company as a whole.
Very poor quality - looks good, won't last. Not even real wood but rather some type of composite material. I'd suggest looking for sales at other local stores that carry higher end furniture. You don't have to spend a fortune. Bassett and Broyhill make some decent stuff and there are usually factory outlets around. You can always look online for discount places - prices are good and shipping often free. Also, don't nix Craigslist. Many people who are moving are selling stuff. We bought a high end solid mahogany bedroom set for our guest room on Craigslsit. Retails for over 15K - got it for 1500!!!!!
I agree with it being junky. So is furniture from Rooms-To-Go.
I bought a livingroom set for under $2000 from La-Z-Boy and their furniture lasts forever!!!! Prior to that, I was using my parents' 25 year old La-Z-Boy furniture and the only reason I got rid of it was because it looked dated. Very dated!
It's not top of the line, but a super price for good quality furniture. We have a lot of it and it holds up just fine. If your family bounces off the walls and has no clue furniture is to be taken care of, it may not last. We are civilized people and it will hold up for ever.. If you kids like tossing furniture around the room, it may not last...
I wont buy anything from them now. But we did buy some end tables and coffee table over 4 years ago. They have held up very well through 2 military moves, one move we did, and 2 kids.
I bought a dinette set and bar stools. The quality is good. The price was a good value. It was their higher end line. I had one chair that had a crack that I noticed 8 months later (it wasn't dropped). They delivered a new one out to me.
I also bought their flagship bedroom set (with the mattress set (from another store) it cost almost $9k) which was composed of wood with marble tops. It is solid and it looks great. I have no complaints. I had an issue with a damaged shelf on the armoir and they sent a new one out right away.
They have different price points and the quality will vary upon which price point you get.
Customer service has been good for me, as was the quality. I was about to buy from Thomasville for a lot, lot more $$$ until I went to Ashley.
I bought my dining room set online from a Calif dealer. It is gorgeous and musch cheaper than I could get locally. Solid oak, Mission style, table with 2 leaves, 10 chairs for $1500. The only problem was it was sent freight and the driver refused to bring it inside, he dropped it in the yard. I had to get my handyman to come over and uncrate it and bring it inside. I just didn't know that about freight delivery, but now I do!

I appreciate any info/input anyone has.
I sold furniture for many years and like most manufactures there is a high end and low end that is the same with Ashley. It all depends on how much abuse the furniture will get.
We bought our bedroom suit from there and I will not go there again. The finish has not lasted well (chips off). I really like the style but I don't know if it will be worth it to have it refinished or not.
