Greens are difficult. I like the very light sage. My exterior is a light dove gray. My interior is all soft colors in large rooms that range from Navaho White to light sage, light lavender and a soft yellow. The colors blend well it it is muted enough. I bought a color called Sagey from Sherwin Williams that was a soft robin's egg blue that accidentally matched chairs perfectly. I hated it because it was an in-yer-face color when moving from another room. When SW custom matched a light sage for me the color problem was resolved.

Lowe's is fabulous. I found a green in a Lowe's brochure and they matched it. I used it outside the front door as a highlight. It was a high gloss hunter green mixed with blue.

I bought cheap paint from Walmart I thought was a soft beige for a screened-in back porch. It dried out as a very soft gray that was perfect for what it was.

The trick I learned about paint years ago is this: I have the formula attached to every can. I keep the empty can. Sherwin Williams had a record of my buying the same color several years earlier. Last year I bought 23 gallons on sale at 30% discount. .

Wow! Twenty three gallons? That's a lot of paint. I have the paint counter employee print off two stickers...one they put on the lid of the paint can, the other I take home and put in my filing cabinet so I know which colors go where. No need to keep paint cans or lids this way.

It is a LOT of paint, but my rooms are not small. It had not been painted in many years and all the colors were dark with matching ceilings except the 10x12 circus pink bathroom. My cave had hunter green ceiling and walls.. The living room was close to 8 gallons because I painted it twice.

Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage collection is apparently VERY popular...Google it and you'll see how many hits pop up. Do any of the greens in this collection appeal to you? BTW, I don't think you necessarily need to buy from RH...I believe other paint companies can provide a match.
