Default Decorating with leather sofa

I need help with decorating my living room. I am purchasing either
a medium brown or a brown-maroonish sofa and I'm not sure what
other colors go with this. I need some brightness to the room as
right now the walls and carpeting are both kind of light beige.
Any help as to paint colors, or an accent chair or something?
Thanks

You have described our family room except the walls are more of a warm taupe beige. We added a glass coffee table, wood side tables (one is a antique round table coverd in a dark red nubby linen floor-length cloth, a dark red, gold, green and cream large stripe high back chair, a vintage tufted cane sided chair covered in a small patterned leopard velvetine, on the couch - contemporary pillows with geometric designs in that same gold, dark red, green and cream (along with nubby solid pillows in a gold/red orange fabric). Large real green plants, colorful contemporary art mirroring the geometics of the pillows....a richly colored oriental area rug under the cofee table and couch in black, dark burgundy, dark gold, dark blue, etc. I have used some blue and white chinese vases in the bookshelves and a blue and white chinese urn on a side round table - that blue is a real pop in that room. The carpeting is new, rather textural and contemporary looking and a beigy gold color. The crown molding, fireplace and bookshelvs are walnut. Several lamps including one in the bookshelf (dark red lamp), and recessed lighting and a 9 foot french door unit add the needed lighting.

Generally speaking medium gold and orangish gold are good colors on our dark burgundy/brown couch, chair and ottoman.

I just added a brown leather sofa to my living room as well and similar walls and lighter hardwood floors. So what I did was get a rug with brown and beige and green, very clean and simple lines, added a green accent chair and green cushions to the sofa...I like neutral and simple decorating so that worked perfectly for me.

I have a dark brown leather sectional. Even though it is not decorater friendly it is definitely durable and family friendly. Medium beige tile floors, browns/golds/green rug, brown walls w/ mossy green accent niche and pillows.

Hey thats nice! I have a similar leather sofa and love seat, and its good to see different colors. I have mine paired with reds, oranges, and golds. But this would be a good change when and if I do.

It is Natuzzi...paid aoubt $2k 6 years ago and it still looks new. Sister-in-law has same sofa but got a softer leather/lighter color that didn't hold up as well.

Thanks..I know what you mean, we have 3 dogs..it's a losing battle..we decided a few years ago after a couple of our past dogs passed away that we spent too much time fretting about dog hair..that doesn't mean we dont try, but my best girlfriend put it really well one time

If you don't like dog hair, don't go to their house' amen

I love the color of your sofa, wow it looks like a good napping sofa, thats what I need..

Have a great day!
