Hi,

I need to get drapes/blinds for floor to ceiling windows in our bedroom.
There is glass on a all 3 sides..and hence there is no way i can drill a rod.
the drapes will have to be hung from the ceiling.
This is fine but our condo building has a rule that the hardware that will be put on the ceiling cannot be drilled more than half an inch inwards.
So now I am at a loss...I have no clue how to hang my drapes..

Does anyone know how much should a ceiling mount be drilled inside to hang drapes?

Also the window width is about 141 W X 108 L in inches. The custom drapes seem to be sooo expesinve for this size of a window.Any suggestions of places that i could refer to?So far I have been getting quotes of 1500-2000 $ for this window.

Thanks sooo much in advance,
cheers!

I guess I'm a little confused as to how there's no way to instlal drapes on the walls. The windows must have a frame around them.

I agree, Hopes, there has to be framing of some kind around the windows. Even if there's no decorative wood moulding present, there's something there.

Another option sinnvy would be inside-the-window mounting of drapes on tension rods. Of course that depends on what those windows are like and how wide each one is and how much recess space there is. By chance can you take a picture and upload the photo?

Hanging rods from the ceiling if you can only screw in by 1/2" will definitely not support the weight of drapes even if they were light-weight sheers.

What about those short rods that are installed on the side of the window and don't go across? They are usually maybe 12-18" wide and you only have to screw into the wall beside it.

Post a picture of the window. That would help.
