I would put up a nice tile back splash and upgrade the counters. that would make a world of difference. You can use expensive tiles for the back splash as it isnt a great deal of surface area. don't be alarmed at 5-10 / ft tiles and consider patterns and mixing colors and textures. there are some great ideas out there.

That first pic looks like a twin of my laundry! Amazing difference a new floor and some color on the walls will make. Nice.

Thanks! Only thing is that floor shows all the dirt. If we do wood in the kitchen, it will be lighter.

Oh very nice!! I can't wait to see what you do for storage above the washer and dryer. Some white storage cabinets, open or closed, would really bring the room together as well as giving you room for your linens and laundry supplies! I loooooove your machines! Hey, if you went with open shelves, you could put white curtains with little red pinstripes on them.....and some on your door/window too. It would really make your laundry room cheerful.

LOL..... sounds like a great idea on the curtains. You said you were sticking with white appliances? I like white appliances in the kitchen.....although, once the stainless steel fad is over, it will be easy to get those used stainless steel appliances for a steal (no pun intended?) hehe. Although I like the cleanability factor of stainless, I find them to be so industrial feeling ....and I guess I just like having a really warm, homey feeling to the kitchen. I spend a lot of time there....I don't want to feel like I'm in a factory. I hope you're having a great time with your remodel.

We've always had white appliances and I've never felt they were hard to clean. With the new finsihes on appliances, I think its pretty much a non issue.

Me either....on the cleanability...and I hate black...hehe....it shows every single smudge, scratch and speck of dust. Besides, white appliance add a ton of light reflection.

And also, does white ever really go out of style?
