what does everyone like? If you had different colour schemes? I need to redo the master bath, and was wondering what everyone likes....

My bathroom is black and silver.
I have a shower curtain with black flowers on it, black and silver soap dispenser with toothbrush holder and trash can. Black bath mat.
I am going to get a stencil and do black and silver painted stars along the top of the wall. I think that black and white look very clean.

Lately I like these two styles. Lots of stone in the spa like bathrooms. And then the turn of the century black and while tiles and beadboard.
Cobalt blue and white tiles are also nice.

Our main bathroom has maize-colored tiles surrounding the shower & half-way up the other walls. The floor tiles are white. After living with a shower curtain that never quite matched for 4 years, I decided to paint all the walls white, get a white waffle weave curtain and accent with other colors. The fixtures are the old style chrome & white enamel with black lettering (for H & C.) I have some large wicker baskets for extra storage. Wish I'd done it when we moved in, it's so light & airy & you can change the look easily with towels, candles & bathroom rug!

my master bath is also silver
here is a picture

the master bedroom is also a silver finish

black would be a great accent but with a white dog that sheds not a good idea

Those are some drop dead gorgeous walls! Would you be willing to share how you did them?

thanks missy
I have to give the credit to my father-in-law
Actually the bedroom happened by mistake.
We really liked the RL "evening slipper" so we bought a gallon. lol we didn't realize that it was a finish not a paint so when we rolled it on all you saw was roller marks and at $35 a gallon the 2nd wasn't covering any better.
So when my father-in-law came to visit he said " i can fix it" he used a 4" wide brush and used a cross-thatch pattern and I loved how it turned out.
The bath I told him I wanted to match the the brushed stainless in the ceiling fan in the bathroom(i know having a ceiling fan in the bath is strange but once you have one you will never not again)
He did the base coat a dark grey then took "silver glaze" and a wide stiff brish and went from the ceiling to the floor in one stroke.
He is a sculptor/artist so we asked him to help with the house when we moved in. lol I keep teasing him that I wish he would retire because I would keep him busy because all of my friends want him to do their paint.
Here is the wall in the formal living room that he did, it extends down the hall in the diningroom.

myfask, those are some really neat walls! You are lucky to have a talented man in the family.
My bathroom has a shower curtain that is an iridecent sheer with foilage and wild flowers, mostly with a sage green background, with a water color effect. The pieces to match are all bottle green glass in color with pressed flowers inside the glass. I bought it in Penny's a few yrs. ago and I still am in love with it. I was all set to paint the walls a sage green, but when I went to get the paint, I decided to go on the opposite side of the color wheel, which ended up being lavendar. It looks so nice, I'm glad I did it.

We just had our bathroom painted last year. I had to work w/ the tile that was in the shower and around the jacuzzi tub and on the floor so we went w/ RL Hunting Coat Red on the walls (I totally love) and the cabinets were white but we had them painted a real light soft gold. I totally love it. So warm and inviting w/ two very large candlesticks in the niche above the tub w/ a gold toned painting on canvas I did for that spot. Our bathroom is very large and it did not make it feel small at all. I even had the water closet painted the same red (the water closet is the little bitty room w/ the toilet in it in the bathroom ). The only reason we went ahead and painted the cabinetry is the comment the painter made when I showed him the color swatch, "a peppermint room". ACK! NO!!! Oh, we also have a ceiling fan in our bathroom. Totally love it. I agree, once you have one in there you will never not want one in there.
Another popular color scheme is the brown and either turquise blue or a very light "spa" blue.

I LOVE PA! and momof2dfw
both your bathrooms sound great
pictures please
the only "problem" with the bedroom walls is matching bedding colors
I keep joking that I am going to buy a satin comforter so if the dogs ump up on the bed they will slide right off the other side.
I average 3 or 4 comforters a year. Lola the puppy likes to pull the corner and take the comforter into the other rooms
