I just bought a house that is great but needs updating here and there. Specifically, the kitchen needs a new dishwasher. I have a fairly new fridge and stove in bisque that I'm transferring from my old house. The built in microwave is white. I eventually want to install a wall oven and separate cooktop, which usually come in black, but I have seen them in white.
Here's my question: since I need a new dishwasher right now, should I get black or white? The dishwasher I want only comes in white, black and stainless (which I hate, feels too institutional and hard to keep clean) The cabinetry is oak, as is the floor, but the woodwork is all painted white. Also, the size of the kitchen is average, and I want to maintain the more spacious feeling that the white gives it. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
thanks for the pix! Are you planning on keeping the cabinets, flooring, etc?
Yes, cabinets are good quality and style that I like (flush with ceiling, I hate soffits!). Floor is original to the home oak hardwood in good condition.
In that case, I believe I would go with white. Its a clean, classic look.
Bisque has been out on the market for almost 10 years, the manufacturers change that color line every 10 years, it has a tendency to look a little dated with oak.
Its an adorable kitchen, with a bit of updating it will look great, good luck!
Definitely white. Especially if you stay with current scheme of woodwork and knobs on cabinets.
Also, change out that kitchen light, very dated.
