First 4 are of the formal living room, the last 4 are of the formal dining. Again, I apologize for darkness and blurriness!!

NickMan- Very nicely done. When you are finished your home will look beautiful. What color did you use for your FLR walls?

Wow, NickMan! Did you have a decorator do your rooms? If not, you've got an awesome eye for great design and color. I love everything about both rooms. More photos of more rooms, please!

NickMan7 you have done well with that space, nicely blending of colors, funiture and decor. Look like a new construction from the pics. I really like the wrought iron and oak banisters, we look at a building a home a couple of years ago with those banisters, oak stairways with a bridge like yours that had two seperate stairways 1 leading into the foyer and the 2 overlooking and leading into the 2 story family room. Do to the rapid falling housing market and forclosures in my neighborhood I couldn't get what I wanted.
Also Nueman Homes went bankrupt before we can start the process of building which work out in our favor because to this day 2 + years later they have at least 10 unfinish home, dirt mountains and weeds 3' tall on their lots bringing down the community. I love that house.

Okay NickMan7 do you have a man cave in the works?

Here's my small kitchen.
texasfire that's a nice kitchen. I love those countertops, backsplash and how they finish the window to match the counters. This forum is getting me work up again to putting my home back on the market next spring to build a new construction. There's so many ideals flowing through my head that I'm holding back on doing. I wanting to redo my kitchen and half bath in that color granite with maple cabinetry in both rooms with the stainless stove and microwave except the fridge and dishwasher. You probably asking why not the fridge and dishwasher, I was wanting to apply maple doors over the face of the fridge and dishwasher to give it a semi custom look and finish.

Thanks, yl! The formal living is Benjamin Moore Blair Gold. The dining is Benjamin Moore Wethersfield Moss. We did a satin blend with both so the light from the lamps would not be absorbed by a flat dark paint - the satin really helps it reflect which is obvious in the photos and is quite stunning in person.

The niche in the dining is the same gold as the living and the green in the niche behind the giant art in the living is the same as the dining. It really helps tie everything together!

Hey texas! No, we have been working on it ourselves (my partner and I - some would argue "we're born with it".. LoL)..

Thank you for the nice compliments! We've had to not buy a lot of pieces because the scale was all wrong - either too large or too small. The spaces are fairly large - the dining is 15x10 and the living is 14x14 - and it's been a challenge finding just the right pieces to work well. Fortunately, we nailed most of the furniture on the first try without much measuring.

I'll post some more photos when we finally get some artwork above that darned wall sofa (it's been like that for almost a year) and we get some drapery panels and wood blinds up. I'll also be posting some photos of our study soon!

It was a new build when we bought in 2005. It's fairly "cookie cutter" (I hate that term), but we had the builder do some special things just for us. We're good sweet talkers. Fortunately we're in a small nabe (only 80 homes) so they were able to finish up before the giant crash. There have only been two homes that have been put on the market and both sold quickly.. *crossing fingers*

We like the banisters, but wish the builder would've offered something darker like the furniture. We're obsessed with it. For now, it actually creates a nice contrast, especially with the wrought iron. I don't think we'll be doing anything with it soon.

No man cave, per se, but we are completing a study, which I suppose could count. Of course, it's all very dark wood with deep chocolate paint, so it will be very intimate. We wanted to keep it dark to create a sense of relaxation and tranquility. I'll get some photos posted within the next few weeks. We still need a nice floor plant and some artwork!!
