Renovating my kitchen, with off white glazed cabinets and I need some advice on tile material and color as well as granite color. Tile will also contunue into foyer. All advice welcome.
Granite is natural so it's limited in color availability.
Marble is more porous and thus has more risk to have bacterial to breed for kitchen use, imo. But properly sealed, it should be fine--just more maintenance work is needed.
As for kitchen floor tiles, I prefer not to have too many grout lines, so I would go for large piece tiles--or just go hardwood.
For kitchen backsplash, I would go for ceramic and glass tiles because I think the backsplash gives me room to explore colors for accents and motifs and fun.
For counter top, again less grout, the better, so I would go for solid surfaces like granite or man-made solid.
