As the title implies, this is my first new project this year.
Its not a large house, but we have a nice budget.
Here are the problems....the homeowner bought all the furniture on her own, with some serious missteps, which will have to be solved in a creative manner, or off to Craigslist the bad stuff goes, lol!
Anyway, here are the rough first pix, the walls have been painted since then, thought I would give everyone a look see!
Its an open floor plan, so I am grouping the LR/DR/kitchen all together as the living area;
View walking in the front door....

That is all I have for the moment on the main part of the house......but the rat pack bar has gotta go!!!!!!!
Can you believe that an in-store designer sold that to my client as part of the living room?????

And the fun part..... a screened in porch that we are going to do over with windows into a bar/sitting area. It overlooks a golf course, client loves to golf, so I'll have fun here.......am thinking of putting that awful bar in here and doing the room retro-kitsch........ideas welcome!

LOL - rat pack bar...well, of course you are right. Nice kitchen. I know that in Florida, tile floors make sense but I always want to put a rug down....even the bedroom seems to need a rug & televisions are such a pain to decorate around - the one on the dresser looks like a big black hole and negates any decent decorating on the dresser....I know you will perform magic on this home and it will be lovely...can't wait to see the finished product.

I love the bar!!! But it doesn't belong in that living room.

Instead, it belongs in my dining room! LOL

kshe- very cool.

Do you concentrate on the decor? Or do you also do demo and change the bones?

Love the large tiles but I hate the way they are laid on an angle. Seems like a waste of nice tile.

Cat- I know what you mean. We just put carpet in and it feels so warm and cozy. You can never get that from hard floors.

Very cool. This reminds me very much of my house! so I will be watching this carefully, since we are very much in need of help! Our screened porch looks just like that one.

Lisa, I do whatever needs to be done to get the job done, LOL......seriously though, this is brand new construction, so this job will be mainly decor, with the exception of the porch.
I'm sorry you dont care for the tile, I like it on the diagonal in small spaces, it visually enlarges the area.....be assured, there will be large area rugs!!!
These pix were taken on my first visit.

What are they going to let you do with that boring boring kitchen? They have very updated appliances, nice 3" crown molding, boring and cheap but not out of style flat panel doors, no corner cabs...ie.. susans or corner angles, no multi heights and multi depths, I love the solid surface (Corian) tops with one piece sink, just a bad color, looks like maple with a toffee, toast or toffee color.....yuck!, stainless bow handles are nice, no double deep cabinet over the fridge.

It looks like a Pulte track home. Did I get it right?

If they let you at that kitchen you will make it a prize.
