We have hardwood floors throughout our home. We are getting ready to move out and will be renting our home to another family. In a couple of rooms, the floors are worn (i.e. chair in front of desk). The floor is not ruined or damaged but the finish is definitely rubbed to a lighter color.

I am looking for a quick fix that will make it livable w/o having to refinish the floors at this time. I am sure the renters will use area rugs which will cover most of the areas but I am looking for a product I can apply that will enhance the floors in the meantime.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately for your budget, the best way is to scuff-sand and apply poly to the whole floor. However, Armstrong makes a product that I've heard works pretty well, though I haven't used it myself. It's called Armstrong Hardwood Floor Restorer, and I'm pretty sure it's sold at Lowes and HD. There is also a product out there from Bona, as well as some others. None of them will bring the floors back to new, but they may help a bit.

If not doe right the floor not completely cleaned and prepped touch such as mention can be a big mess. Better to use one of the miracle finishes on TV but it would last.Hardwood isn't very good chioce for a renatl unless its very highend that would be refinished often.
