Just wondering who has a tv frame in here, i wanted to get one for my tv in my room. My room theme is african tribal mahogany. Everything in it is mahogany / african / bamboo stuff so the tv really kills my room theme but i need it. I've look online but they're pretty darn expensive. Anyone did a DIY frame?

OP, what exactly is a TV frame? Is it something you buy and attach to a screen? Or something someone can build from decorative moulding and attach yourself?

elnina, thanks for the link! VERY informative and helpful if I ever build one myself.

OP, I like the idea in the tutorial regarding the second frame with stretched canvas and artwork. I think this would work in your themed room and the art you select could complement your other furnishings and objects.

I don't like the idea of a only a frame around the TV. It looks kind of dumb to me (because a television is NOT art) but that's just my opinion.

I think the pictures look pretty nice, but it sort of reminds me of putting lipstick on a pig.

ur absolutely right, just a frame around it would be pretty tacky. i was looking into getting the matt for it also but then it cost alot more with the so call "acoustic matt" or whatever they call it. Still browsing around for the cheapest method but so far found none, even DIY got doubt, But if i get it i will definitely post up pics.

This is not a trend I would want in my house. It's a bit too tacky for my taste.
