hi,
wondering about your opinions on the two cars......2009 Acura TL (2WD tech package) vs. 2010 TSX tech package.
which would you get and why?

Assume you've found both cars about 4k under KBB value. both cars have around 15k miles a year on them, as well as the Navigation package. (assume each has one owner and clean carfax). assume you can afford both, but would obviously be looking to get the biggest bang for the buck and not pay more without getting much in return.

thanks.

I would personally go with the TSX. It gets better mileage and is frankly more attractive than the new redesigned TLs. Although, the TSX is basically a slightly more luxurious Honda Accord. The TL is more in line with entry-level luxury sedans such as the Lexus ES, Audi A4, Infiniti G37, etc.
So, if you want better mileage and dont mind comprising a little passenger space, go with the TSX. But, if you want a larger, more luxurious car with more gadgets and gizmos, go with the TL.

The TSX is basicly the Honda Accord Europe gets. It looks better but sacrifices interior space compared to the TL. Since we don't have kids, I'd go with the TSX.

Both are ugly and look like Accords inside. I'd go with an Accord, then the TSX, less people will laugh and it gets better MPG.

Assuming you don't need the space of the TL, I think the TSX is better all around. You give up some power for better MPG, which IMO is a positive trade these days. You also get what many consider to be a better overall design aesthetically.

The 2009 Acura TL is a great choice for those who value superb audio, high-tech features, and Honda reliability..

What high tech features? This is a myth sold by Honda marketing to those that don't know what real technology is.

Superb audio, as compared to...?

It's better than some factory systems, but hardly superb.

Since they're both FWD and one's a year younger, I'd go with the TSX. If the TL was the SH-AWD trim or they were both the same year, that would be a different answer. And since we're only talking about FWD cars, you could get the Accord with leather, sat nav, XM radio, and virtually the same engine as the TSX except premium fuel isn't required. I do like the look of the TSX better and I'm sure there are a few luxury touches here and there inside, less road noise I suppose. But the Accord has more room inside and handles nearly as well for all intents and purposes.

I would go with an Accord. Personally, if I wanted to step up to a luxury badge it would have rear or AWD, but that may not matter to you. I'd go with an Infinity G37 if I were sticking to 2 or 3 year-old models but it's going to cost bit more. (I'd suggest the G25 to you but 2011 is the first year). I like the 2012 TL a lot.
