I'm planning to replace my old Camry (100K miles on it) with Acura TL (50K miles on it). I just want a change, my Camry interior is dull and boring. So I want to get something nice.
Can forum members share their Acura TL experience, how is it, maintenance, reliability, resale etc.
What other cars can I consider, I'll looking in the 15K to 20K price range.
I have never owned one, but have had two TLs as loaners. One was a current gen and the other a previous gen. I'll say that they were both very nice cars. Fast enough, very smooth, and a nice interior. Since I didn't own - I can't say what ownership is like. But the TL's rep is very solid, as with all Acuras.
If you can find a TL-S in your budget, it offers a bit more to the sport side of the equation. Overall, we've never had an issue with any Acura in the family, save for an MDX transmission that was covered by the warranty and never had another problem. The TLs have never been problematic for me, the previous generation or current generation. Similarly, we've not had an issue with a TSX that makes for an excellent city car.
The only nagging issue I have had with Acuras as of late has been the RL's ballast system, which is in some of the current generation TLs with AWD.

My mother has had a 2001 TL for almost ten years now. Every time I fly back there to visit family and friends, I basically commandeer it and drive all over Chicagoland. It is an awesome car, and has improved with every generation. It costs less than a Lexus, and it is faster than a Mustang. What else do you want? If you can find a 6-speed, buy it. Honda makes the best gearboxes on the planet.
