No, I didn't expect it to last forever but I also didn't expect it to go out at 18K miles either. Come on, be fair! I am a big manual transmission fan but most folks who live in heavy traffic, urban areas with long commutes like me, prefer the automatic over manual. Not only because of comfort but it also gets better MPG than the manual. That was the reason I got an automatic.

Which is why I don't pay any attention to anything they say. V6 autos make up a much larger portion of what Honda/Acura sells today as opposed to 4cyl manuals - yet they still get these kinds of ratings. It just doesn't add up.

If you're calling me a liar, I'd be more than glad to scan my paperwork and post it on here.......

Nobody's called you a liar
But what i think he's saying is,with this many people reporting problems how is it that reliability is still 9/10?

I've owned many hondas/Acuras and the 2008 accord v6 is joke when it comes to reliability.
2 brake jobs and transmission problems before 20k miles
Don't get me wrong the maunual transmission for the 4 cylinder civic/accord/fit/RSX have been, and are great!
The accord v6/RSX Type s/Civic si's are borderline horrible.
