True, and if you read my whole post you would have also seen that the heat kills the calipers, and generally owners report the rotors being warped too. So add new calipers (>$100 ea) and rotors to that bill. It'll be more than just $17...

Also, you could do a little research and buy a longer lasting pad and rotor setup and prolong the time between brake jobs.

Either way, for the average DIYer for can handle a brake job this is a $100 brake job if you spring for better quality rotors and pads and 1-2 hours of time. Not a deal-breaker and a non-issue for most.

If you aren't a DIYer...you are stuck paying $400+ mechanic rates or whatever they charge.
Again, the calipers too. (Trust me, I am a DIYer, I rebuilt them to try and save them but they were cooked).

Honestly, this IS a design flaw in the 08-09 models. A lot of people blame the EBD system, but I suspect the rear brakes are just undersized for the workload Honda asked of them on this model which they corrected in later years.

I would be surprised if most people (who do not DIY repairs) shopping for a used car would consider rear brakes that last 50% to 25% as long as they should to be a non-issue.

Use them and be prepared to ask more questions about noise here and there and what not.

Looks like there was a class action lawsuit and a redesigned pad

I used them for my rear brakes on my TSX [Honda Accord Euro] never had an issue...Although once these pads wear down im going to change the entire break setup to something that can handle the car better.
