If new phone won't stay paired with car, is it generally a phone problem or a car problem. Previous phone stayed connected to Hands Free Link. However, with the new phone, the connection switches back to the handset. Acura will happily charge me $119 to diagnose. I only have a few more days to return phone.
When I paired the phone, I deleted my previous phone as an attempt at trouble shooting. That did not matter. Hopefully someone here has some thoughts.
Good to know, especially since the clock is ticking on my phone return. The phone is the only thing that changed, not my car, so that makes sense.
I did switch phones since having the problem. Plus I paired the sales person's phone with my car. Same situation.
If anyone can share what phone he / she has successfully paired with an Acura, that would be helpful. Then maybe I can get a loaner, or pair a friend's phone and see if that works.
Update: The link is great for phone selection! My phone is in the "Mostly Compatible" category.
I kept my new phone and switched the way I dial calls. With previous phone I could dial from handset & stay connected. With new phone if I dial that way, I have to manually switch handset to handsfree to stay connected. Now I use verbal commands or car addy book for outgoing calls; the call stays connected. Yay!
After buying a new phone, trying to use a cable to attach, and many miles of frustration, I learned it was the microphone in the car, a frequent problem, and it was fixed in no time. Hats off the the technician, Mitchell at Aucra in Las Vegas!
