If the OP is seeing some ratty looking Hondas, I would say they are old as dirt but are still on the road whereas other makes would have bit the dust a long time before. I have taken plenty of Accords to the 200k mark and got rid of them only because they were old and ugly. Mechanically they were fine. There comes a point in a car's life where it is just basic transportation and I don't care to put money in the cosmetic side of things.
