My favorite has always been the 94-95 Accord (champaigne colored EX, my fave). I didn't like how they changed the tail lights the next two years (96-97). This, to me, was a timeless design. They still look really good, especially when I spot a clean one.
My next favorite would be the 2003-2007 coupes. I have a 2005 LX coupe; I like the body style, could do without the harsh suspension. After that, the '98-'02 coupes. The rear was definetely influenced by the Acura NSX.
Back in the mid-1990s I had a 1990 Accord EX sedan, bought used. It was a really nice car! Maroon with grey interior, automatic, sun/moon roof, power everything (could have done without the power antenna, it got bent and stuck). I only had it a year or two and then sold it to my then sister-in-law. They really liked it to.
I've since moved on a Subarus, I like the awd wagons.
The only Accord I've ever truly liked is the coupe from around 2000 with the triangular taillights. Overall it's a fairly sharp car. Accord styling has been in a slow, successive decline since.
I really liked that generation of the Accord. The tail lights on the coupe looked a lot like what the Acura NSX of that era had. I think the current Accord is an improvement over the previous generation, but still not as good looking as past Accords. In recent years, Honda has been chasing after an older demographic, probably to compete with Toyota. No wonder Hyundai has managed to make inroads.
Hands down... I am a fan of the 1990-93 models. Also like any Accord 1997 and older. Even my old '84 Accord was a good car... had two 86 Accords and a 1991.
From a mechanical standpoint, the 1977-1981 were the best.
I had a 77 and an 80. Very nice cars for that time. Simple but elegant. They were unique cars at that time. Ran forever. Rust was a problem early on. It got better by even 1980. Honda was very aggressive at improving the breed. It had something to prove to the US market back then. IIRC the 77 cost about $3500.
2008 and newer. The 2013-present probably being my favorite. I have ridden in 124 different 2008 and newer Accords so I'm a big fan.
