We recently replaced our old sofa after the dog destroyed the arms with her claws. Love everything about the micro fiber, and the dog can't hurt it...

I found Microfiber sofa is best option because it is a pretty durable, easy-to-clean, fabric, which is why so many people choose to have it in their homes. This resistance to dust accumulation makes microfiber a great choice for users who suffer from dust allergies and other types of allergies. These are all the rage but the problem is that not everyone knows how to properly look after them. You should cleaned Microfiber sofas with either a solvent-based or water-based cleaner.

I paid 1400 for a long 3 piece microfiber power recliner with usb chargers etc. I also have a power recliner Laine leather sectional upstairs (4500 dollars for that) and my room mates all use the microfiber, it just feels better to them. (not me) but its 2 years old and looks brand new, my cat lays on a small part of it, and I just wipe it off. no claw marks nothing.

Cotton does not wear well; your best bet is a blended fabric. If you have pets, microfiber is the choice (but only in the higher grades: i.e., "ultrasuede," which is what is often used for the interior of very high-end vehicles), but won't be cheap.

I'm in the microfiber camp. Never had it before but we bought a furnished beach condo and because we're clumsy, spilled coffee on the sofa. I just used a little soap and water and the stain came right off. Now that's worth it, right there. Since then, every stain we've managed to put on it has come off completely.

If I couldn't get microfiber in something I liked, I'd make sure to follow other poster's advice and spray it right away with fabric protector. We had friends who went through a hurricane and had high water that left a water mark on their sofa. Because they'd sprayed it carefully when they bought it, the sofa cleaned up with no marks whatsoever.

They only way I would go with a fabric colored sofa is if it had slipcovers I could remove and wash. I currently have a leather couch, which is going on 15 years old and still looks great, and a slipcovered love seat. I love that I can wash the love seat cover and change it up when I decide to change color schemes.
