Why would the inside of my tiolet smell like pee? I just got done cleaning it with Pinsol. It`s windy here so could that be the problem? I`m wondering if the gases are coming up through my pipes. It`s not the tiolet seat. I already checked that.
Look at the bottom of the toilet on the floor. Is it sealed, does it need to be re-seated? Does the toilet move or rock? It may be leaking underneath and need a new wax ring seal. Have a plumber reseat the toilet. It's cheap and easy. Or give your wife the new wax ring and tools. That'll be even cheaper.
Have you tried a toliet specific cleaner? I don't use pine sol so i don't know what's in it but is it possible that whatever is in it is reacting with the bacteria in your toliet and causing the odor?
I doubt it's the seal on the toilet, in my experiance when that happens you tend to smell poop more than pee.
Also are you cleaning the outside of the toilet really well? Sometimes I'm surprised how much dried up urine is on the outside of the toliet.
One last thing, my cousins bathroom was smelling like pee for a while, it was driving her crazy since she's a clean freak and was very thorough with her cleaning of the bathroom. One morning she walked in and found her half asleep preschooler moving around while peeing and actually getting it on the fabric shower curtain. Once she washed it the smell was gone.

That was the problem in one of my bathrooms, but it smelled like gas not pee. There was no seal (caulk) around the bottom of the toilet where it meets the floor. Caulked it and the smell went away
My parents had this same problem when they bought their house. No matter what they tried they couldn't get the smell out. An older lady lived in the house and was frugal so they thought maybe it had to do with her not flushing it. They ended up replacing the toilet and it was resolved.
How old is the toilet? If it is yellow, do you let it mellow?
Uric acid crystals can build up in toilets. Pinesol is NOT a good cleaner. You want (at minimum) an acid balanced cleaner. Pinesol is little more than pine oil (which has some antimicrobial activity) and cleansers.
