I occasionally have plantar fasciitis. No way am I taking my shoes (necessary for support) off anywhere but bed or bath when I'm having an attack. I'd be immediately crippled and unable to walk into the house anyway, and the attack would be extended!

No seating? Sorry, but the shoes stay on.
I had this problem when I lived in a home where the woman insisted I remove my shoes. I was in a surgical boot, which made it very difficult to walk in with groceries. There was a bench by the front door, however. I moved after less than 4 months. Fortunately, she had thick carpet, but it was a problem for me and often caused pain.

I suppose if someone is that concerned about germs, an antibacterial spray can be used. Just making suggestions, since I saw the thread and have been in homes where shoes aren't allowed. Where I am now, it's difficult for me to walk around barefoot because of the wood floors. So I either wear slippers or socks.
