I was just wondering if someone could expliain to me why my neighbor would have a very long extension cord going from somewhere in his home out to the utility/power box that is inbetween our yards. My husband is worried they are plugged into our power.
Just wondering why someone would have an extension cord plugged into it. Never seen it before.
I'd ask the Power Company if it's OK to do something like that. Ask them if it's dangerous since it doesn't seem to be standard wiring. Either they know about it, or they don't. And I suspect that if they don't, they may be very unhappy about it.

Well, here we are- a few days later and the extension cord is still there. The power company finally came today and checked it out and then, believe it or not, came to our front door to tell us that it is a temporary thing and is ok!! I guess my husband gave his address or something so they came up to let us know. We felt like idiots and were praying that the neighbors weren't home at least to see the man come up to our house. (no cars in driveway so I think they were gone!) I am still nosey and wondering why they have to get their power from there. And how long is it going to be temporary???? Just being a nosey neighbor I guess.
Are you sure they aren't tapped into your cable TV as well?
