I don't have them myself but many people here do and they sell them at Home Depot and smaller outlets. But then I'm in the Caribbean and I wouldn't think they would work too well unless they get the required amount of sunlight to properly charge them. Cheers!

Haven't tried them yet - but purchased 6 from Big Lots ($15 for a set of 2). We don't want them to be "bright" - but just to mark gate locations or other landmarks - so that if you need to go into the yard at night you don't trip...

They are LED, and so far solar technology has seemed to improve every year (5 years ago the lights were terrible, and have been getting better - stronger, brighter, longer - every year since then).

I'll let you know once I put them up (the fence is only half-built right now, and the light-caps are the finishing touch).

i to was looking at buying these. i saw them at lowes and they looked like a nice decarotive top for a railing post or a fence like the op said.

I know one type solar fence light(Solar motion sensor light), 2 watt solar PV panel, Lead-acid rechargeable battery, motion sensor control.
