I don't want to live near anyone.

That is why I live where I do.

Poll results are anonymous.
I don't want to live near wife beaters, alcoholics, drug people, trash-burners, or anarchists.

Guess I might have to add college students, because I don't like alcoholics or drug people, and those things are fairly synonymous with college.

I wouldn't want the loud alkie partiers for neighbors.

However I would pick the gay couple as neighbors. The place would probably look real nice and there wouldn't be any screaming kids around.

Yep, ours is the nicest on the block

The whole premiss of this post and poll is fairly offensive. The first three choices are folks just like the rest of us and are thrown together with some obviously very negative types of folks who most wouldn't want to be near.

Anyone I have to hear or see negative evidence of (not keeping up the property, garbage, vehicles, etc). Other than that I really don't care who's doing what as long as nobody is getting hurt.

People without kids.
People who come home, drive in the garage, go in their house, and never are seen otherwise.
People who lower my property values.
People with too many cars.

Uh, sorry about that, I didn't read all the choices. Back when I was single, the violent sex offender would not have bothered me much, could either leave me alone or become a plinking target, but would not want such hanging around DW while I am away at work.

Not really OK with the wife-beater either, but I guess they will go at it regardless of if they live nearby or not.

for me the wife beater (or visa versa women do beat their husbands) would be a problem. i dont like verbal fighting (once in a while happens but regularly) so if i suspected there was physical abuse going on i WOULD call the cops every single time about it...so not only would i have to deal with the noise but the flashing lights everytime the cops arrived.

the loud alcoholic...alcoholics arnt on the top of my good neighbor list as is (ive lost family to alcoholism) but it would be the NOISE that would be a problem for me...kids will be kids is the saying i guess, and i dont mind people enjoying their yard having fun..but general loudness pretty much constantly...yeah not so much.

hard drug user is another one that i have issue with, i couldnt do it...and the bad company pelple comming and going, risks accosiated ect...not happening.

and finally a just released violent sex offender...
im not typically one to judge some sex offenders...
a good GAY friend of mine got arrested because a girl cried rape, shed tried to get him drunk at a party, (he doesnt drink, and yes i was there) then tried to bed him, when he turned her down she claimed he tried to rape her, and it did get put on his record)
but a convicted VIOLENT sex offender...i dont think id ever feel safe no matter how "reformed" he claimed to be.

I have moved quite a bit and had the misfortune of having most of those situations next door to me. The best neighbors I had were a gay couple and an unmarried couple.
