The store has an extended 3 yr warranty for those who want it. It was an additional $50. Has anyone bought their extended Guard It service warranty from a company called Fortegra? The sales guy told me that any accidents like spillage, liquid marks, punctures, minor burn marks, etc. to the furniture is covered. If so, how was your experience with them? Were they quick to respond? Thanks.
My experience with RTG is that that warranty will last longer than their furniture does.
I've bought two sofas from them, one upholstered that began to sag irreparably after about 6 months.
I bought a "leather" sectional for the rec room that began to peel after about two years of use. The vinyl peeled off the fabric backing. It was a nightmare.
We just destroyed both pieces. They couldn't even be donated or sold for consignment. It's junk.
The furniture is poor quality. The so called scotchguarding is a joke. We received a whopping $17. check from a class action suit that they failed to actually put the fabric protector on the furniture.
We have a sofa and chair from them which nobody ever sits on, and the fabric is pilling. If they got any hard use whatsoever, they would have been toast by now.
As for OPs question about their responsiveness, we originally bought leather reclining sofas which failed, and they were very prompt in giving us credit and taking them back. Since we still had a balance we couldn’t just get a refund. That’s why we chose what we have now.

I will just add to my last post. My son is a soldier, and most of his friends are too. About 6 of them all bought huge microfiber sectionals from Rooms to Go. They would go to someone’s house, sit on theirs, and go buy one. The cost makes it furniture you can use for awhile and then dispose of. Nobody worries about babying it much. My sons has been spilt on and worse, and the dogs are always on it. My point is if you want short term furniture you don’t need to treat as an investment. RTG is fine.
We have bought our bedroom suit, dining room table and chairs, and our living room furniture from Rooms to Go.
Our bedroom suit is about 6 years old and has held up with zero issues, so no complaints there.
We have had our couch and loveseat (gray suede type fabric with electric recliners) for a little over a year now. To date we've had zero issues with either of them.
We've had our kitchen table and chairs for about 4 years now. We reupholstered the seat cushions, but only because we changed the color of the room. The old coverings are still in good condition underneath.
We have two young boys and 3 dogs but haven't really had any issues.....
