You'd be surprised how easy it is to cut through drywall with the right tools. Get a drywall or jab saw and you can cut the hole yourself to the appropriate dimensions. As long as you are expanding the hole, there should be no need to install or repair drywall.

even easier... is to just replace the internal components.
The motor and fan blade are almost always interchangeable.

Take the old ones with you when shopping for a new unit.
