What is the name/brand of the kitchen countertop? I really like that look. Any chance you would share costs on your projects? It's ok if you don't but I am just curious how much a project like this runs as a do it yourselfer. I think this project is the biggest transformation of the 3 I've looked at.

Thank you. Mike would love to try a solid sheet of Quartz one day for a shower. Maybe in our own house

We do love it...and we get into trouble when we don't have a project to do. Right now Mike wants to tear out my kitchen...just for something to do. I told him we have to wait at least 5 more years since there is nothing wrong with my kitchen. I am almost afraid to leave him home by himself. He might take a sledgehammer to a perfectly functioning kitchen

Thank you. I can't share exact costs but I can tell you how we base a home and a budget. First we know the area very well. Then we have to make sure the purchase price of the house, the remodel and carrying costs can make us some money. This house had a much higher purchase price than the other so we had less to spend on the remodel. When that happens you have to make choices. We chose to make all rooms new instead of concentrating on just one room. Many remodels will have a high end decked out kitchen...but then they have original bathrooms. Mike and I don't like to do that. We would rather have newer everything. Hope that helps a little.
We bought the countertops at Lowe's. They were stock countertops. They also sell the matching laminate sheets to make an Island top.

Lisa you tell Mike he needs to go volunteer at your local high school's shop classes and leave your kitchen alone. Boy what a blessing that class would get in Mike's skills and attention to details.
