Default Loud Water Flowing Noise from the Tub Faucet

In my bathroom tub downstairs the faucet which fills the tub makes loud sound when hot water is flowing. If I turn the faucet to cold water then the sound is completely gone.

Any ideas?

What is the sound like?

If it is screaming, you put the kid in the tub too soon...

Chances are it is a vibration in a valve stem or some such.

Hot water pipes expand as hot water flows through them. Chances are the pipe isn't secured well somewhere along it's run. It could be rubbing up against a beam or it could be the wrong length and butting up against a wall or beam as it expands.

It does not sound like something is rubbing against a wall. It sounds more like noise of water flowing. Someone told me that the rings (not sure what they are called) are getting old and they are worn out. I think it cost like $2 but the main problem is that I will need to open the faucet and reach those things.

Blame it on the builder- that fixes everything! Knowing that in most instances it's H/O neglect.
Oh, you may want to throw the PLUMBER under the bus too!
