We have a subdivision here in colorado that is currently in litigation with KB homes for building defect complaints.

I would reccomend doing a very solid look at them before considering KB

If you would like, I can provide you with the information regarding the lawsuit filed by Vanatta, Sullan, Sandgrund, Sullan & smith (attorneys at law).

If you are buying a new home you can research a lot of builders hadd.com or hobb.org You will see problem homes on these sites but better to see them now. There is also rateyourbuilder.com
Also if your going new buyer beware Arbitration clauses . In the event the builder screws you over and builds something you wouldn't allow your dog to live in, with the arbitration clause in place you can't sue. I believe that the last new home that I sold had a mold clause in it too.
If you buy new it would be wise to have an engineer (not an inspector) to inspect the property, and an attorney to explain each clause in the builder contract.

I have never been impressed with the quality of KB homes.

For as long as I can remember, KB has always been low end.
