Quadra Fire is the brand we have. Make sure you replace the ceramic pot with a steel pot. Ceramic pots crack and damage easily.

The best brand
If buying used is a good idea
My local retailer charges $1699.00 for a new manual one. It does not shut off when the room is warm enough, etc...
And then installation is around four hundred... and one ton of high-end pellets is around $275.00.
My house is about 900 ft of livable space, all on the same floor. There is a basement down below...
Just want to know my options.
Thanks.

My husband says Quadrafire. He installs them. His company sells them for $2500 to $3000 installed. They run off a thermostat so turn on and off automatically. He says that's your best option. He says the ones you buy from Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. are junk.

To the OP I just wanted to say I hope you enjoy your pellet stove when you get one. They really seem great, I saw one installed while watching Ask This Old House last weekend and it looks like it can be a great addition to a home.

I put in a QuadraFire last year and love it, but do NOT buy inexpensive pellets! They are very messy, leave a lot of residue and can "gum up the works" in your stove. Buy a high quality brand, lignetics or something equal. Be prepared to pay $250- $300 a ton...at least here in No Arizona.
