Default Fleas!!!!!

We are trying to get our house ready to put on the market, and we have a huge flea problem - not in the house itself, but in the garage. No matter how many times Orkin comes to spray, they come back, and I mean by the thousands!!!! If you even walk in there, your ankles can easily look like you are wearing black crew socks A stray had kittens in there several months ago, and although the cats are gone, the fleas remain. The floors are concrete and there are things stored in there, but mostly wood or metal, no fabric, if that matters. Anyone have any help to offer??? Other than a professional, what about flea bombs??? Help!!!

Try putting two mothballs in the sack of your vacuum cleaner, then vac the place. The fleas that are sucked in will die. When finished place many mothballs in several locations.

The remaining eggs must have hatched. If there are no animals present, I think the life cycle must be interrupted by now.
Orkin must be using some ecofriendly crap that doesn't work.

Bug foggers. Set off two or three in there and let the fumes sit for a few hours. Should wipe them out.

I agree about the foggers. Make sure you don't have a gas dryer or water heater with a flaming pilot in the garage because foggers can be combustible and could cause a explosion.

Thanks everyone. I am going to call Orkin today and convey my displeasure. I am also going to set off a couple of foggers, although I will have to run the flea gauntlet to get to the water heater to turn it off! The last thing I need before putting the house on the market is to blow the garage up!

Are there fleas outside the garage on your lawns?

Yes, but only in the backyard, and not to the degree of infestation that they are in the garage. We have gravel walkways, and they are in there too. When my 10 year old goes out to get the dog food, she runs. It would be funny if it so wasn't!

Good point Cleosmom, we use pellets you put in the spreader for fleas, knats etc in the lawn. It works really well-Ortho I believe. When you bomb the garage make sure you do it again in the time specified on the box so you can catch the newly hatched ones. Good luck!!
