Hello,
We have a 2 car garage that is perpendicular to the front of house. We are usually able to enter the garage fine. But backing out, we have to do a 2/3 point turn in the driveway, which means the tires are turning without the car moving and we are getting results like you see in the pic. This is a basic contractor grade driveway, and with this combination of driveway surface and our 3 point turns, these results are to be expected -- particularly that both cars have new tires. You're looking at about a week's worth of tire marks. I'm looking for a possible solution before this gets real nasty.
I'm expecting I'll need a good power wash to clean & prep the surface, and then I'm looking at ways to prevent or minimize this. I've heard the smoother the surface is, the less tire transfer I'll get on the drive. A contractor grade driveway like ours is considering rough. I've heard that a sealant might help to create a smoother surface. Any suggestions on this? I suspect this might not be DIY, and I might have to hire someone. I live in an HOA community, so I can't completely replace the driveway with a darker asphalt or other material.
Thanks in advance for input.
