Has anyone used a "redesigner"?
After months of lugging/dragging/pushing/ throwing,,,ar-r-rg-h-h-h...my furniture upstairs and down, room-to-room, I still don't think it looks right. It's making me crazy Has anyone used one of those redesigners that come in and use your own stuff - just figure out where to put it? If so, how much did you pay? Was it worth it?
Maybe we should start posting pics of our rooms and giving each other advice??!! I'm so OVER it--and don't want to/can't really afford to throw it all out and start over...
Help anyone?

I wish I thought it would help, but due to the configuration of the house, I would have to post different rooms on different floors, and it would be impossible to tell how all works (or doesn't work, more like it! ) together.
Apparently, the lack of responses here tells me this is something only happening on HGTV!!!

Go to HVTV.com and then go to Rate My Space. Look at the rooms on there and the comments below. That should give you an idea of what to do in your own rooms.

I had a "stager" come in today to help me get my house ready to show. I had heard of this service before, but never knew anyone that used one. In addition to getting properties ready to show, he also helps people best utilize the items they own. It was very interesting. We went from room to room and discussed how best to present it. A lot of suggestions he made were ones I wish I would have known before - things looked SO much better when we were done. I think you might enjoy having someone unbiased come through and help you rearrange your things - everything looks so new and fresh. Not inexpensive, to be sure, but IMHO well worth the investment. I realize that you are not getting your home ready to sell, but why not have it looks its best every day and enjoy your things to their best advantage?

Thanks, dougnaie, this is the help I was looking for. How much, if you don't mind sharing , did you pay? How long did he stay? I know for sure that I want to do it, just don't want to spend a ton and then be disappointed (I'm kinda tired of throwing money at the problem, not sure everything I've already spent on is even going to work... !)

SaveMtns - I paid about 350.00. I realize this is costly to some, but I was not surprised given that it is CA, and we tend to overpay for all sorts of things. He stayed almost 1 1/2 hours, and I was the one who had to cut it short to pick up from school. He will come again to see how I have done with his suggestions - not sure if this costs more or is part of the deal. I really liked him, and felt he had a lot of good ideas.

Thanks!! I'm in S. Florida, so I'll bet it's less, but that doesn't seem outrageous to me anyway...let me know how it all turns out, OK? I do think I'm going to try to find one here.
