What i have done so far
changed the air filter because the old one was dirty and looked oily just dirty and wet
poured cup of bleach waited few minutes and then poured 6 big glasses of water
When i poured water and ran to the back to see if it was coming out...i saw just 2 small drips.

The filter is still dry so far.

UPDATE

So we pulled the washer and the inlet hose for cold water was dripping. I put a rag around it to see how much water was dripping by the end of the day the rag was soaking wet. Now i need to go to sears to replace the hose.

What is the best way yo dry the wall under the staircase. It is enclosed. We did not cut the wall to locate the leak.

You'll probably have to replace the wall if it's been wet this long, as mold is forming on the inside. Your insurance company should pay for this as well as for any other damage to your carpet, etc. Call them before you go any further. Don't put off fixing it, because the mold will spread until it's stopped. The mold you're seeing is but a fraction of what's behind the wall, I'd bet.

large fan, heater, and/or a dehumidifier if the surface moisture isn't evaporating quickly.

Did you try to tighten the hose end? If it is leaking at the hose end joint and tightening does not help, the Home Depot or Lowes has sets of steel braided hoses. Don't worry about the valve leaking for now unless you see it leaking at the valve stem/valve body joint. Wait till it all dries out before you get concerned about replacing any wood or drywall.
