I wish I had a roofline that came out far enough to cover part of the patio and shade the windows in the summer. I get hammerd through my west facing 8' slider.
I'd also like hardwood floors everywhere but already spent too much putting in tile and carpet to justify that. Ever.
This! What is it with houses in Florida that they don't seem to have coat or utility closets? I have no place to keep my vacuum. I don't want it in with my clothes and I don't want it in the garage. Do the builders just assume everyone has a cleaning service that brings their own supplies?

Floor plan. I have both a living and family room with a half wall cut out between them. I think it would have been wiser to add more space to the 3 bedrooms (which are tiny) and get rid of the extra living room.
I would add fenestration to a blind side of the house. I hate not having the cross breeze and don't think any side of the house should be "blind". Oh, and can I have a mud room, too?
the IT room (not I.T. as in information tech) its the room that has no purpose. The house we just bought turned out to be a house built over an older house. So think 700sq ft 1940's farmhouse then extended by totally building over including a whole new roof in 1968, we have a breezeway between the house and the kitchen that is our main entrance, the door from the kitchen to the rest of the house was most certainly the old entrance to the original house, this leads into a smallish 12x14 IT room which is central to all the other rooms, it has no windows of its own it leads through a huge arch to the living room if we were to include it in the living room it would make a T shaped room which again is odd. I just can't fathom what to do with it, right now its a catch all area for unpacked boxes and supplies for the rooms we are currently renovating.
Yesterday I went to the county planning offices to pick up permits for an arbor and inquired about possible plans that they may hold for this house, apparently no planning permission was needed before 1970 so no help there. Next stop is the local historical society to see if they have any photos. We are just so confused as to which walls are supporting what not to mention all the different ceiling heights.
I need a place for my goodies and stuff. Or just a place to think. I usually just end up laying in bed to think then get all sleepy..
My husband has the entire garage/man cave-ish to hang out in, invite friends over.
My kids take up the rest of the house..
I don't want much!
I can relate!
